Ready for Summer? This Email Will Help.

Hey Reader,

Summer is here, friends! And yes, I'm THAT excited as this past weekend I had my first lake swim of 2024 and got out on the water.

If you're new around here, I take my summer very seriously. But it wasn't always this way. In May 2013, a series of events in my personal life (including suddenly losing my childcare) led to me sending an email to my clients that changed everything that summer.

The first week of June, I sent an email about my "summer slowdown," outlining exactly what they could expect in July and August.

Truth? I was queasy when I hit send as I didn't know how my clients would react.

There's nothing like being forced to make a tough decision and assert some boundaries, right?

As the responses rolled in from my clients, it turned out it was no big deal. There I was refreshing my inbox and needlessly worrying about it, and no one really cared.

11 years later, I'm so glad I sent that email. And I want you to send that email too! So I've created a script you can steal and send to your clients.

In addition to that email, I recommend you take a few moments as soon as possible to create the "Summer Action Plan.”

In this week's podcast episode and blog, I share six must-ask questions to help you create your plan and the boundaries you'll need to back it up.

Click here to get your Summer Action Plan questions now.

Now's the time to lock down the plan so you can unplug and unwind this summer. Life's too short not to soak up the sun when you can.

Hey Reader, You've probably heard ALL the typical, tired pricing advice by now. You know advice that says you should double your prices, never price by the hour, charge your worth, and so on. In a good economy, it's much easier to raise your prices and charge for your services according to this advice. But in a messy economy like the one we're experiencing now, we can't just price things on a wing and a prayer. We need a strategy, we need to know our hard costs, and we need a baseline hourly...

Hey Reader, I'm back from vacation, and as soon as I logged back in, I was FIRED up, and yes, that means there's a rant incoming. Every single year when May rolls around, I feel this way. It's a month of anniversaries and milestones related to my life and business, so I start taking stock of everything. Add a vacation, and I'm bursting with things to say.Starting with this...WTF are we even doing here in 2024 with this fakery of selling the BS dream of making piles of cash as a business...

Hey Reader, I'm coming up on my 19th business anniversary, and honestly, it's weird to think about it because that's a hell of a long time. On one hand, I'm so proud of what I've built, and I'm a little uncomfortable as I don't have a plan for the future of my business beyond a certain point. For 19 years, I've been adapting and changing, so who knows what will come next? After all, it's one thing to have plans, but what if your gut tells you something else? And it won't stop telling you it's...
